Alexander Technique SeafordNatalie Gibellini, MSTAT

One-to-one lessons · Seaford

Alexander Technique lessons are practical and individual.

Rather than exercises or treatment, lessons focus on developing awareness of habitual patterns of tension and movement, and exploring more efficient and comfortable ways of using yourself.

What we work with

Sitting, standing, walking

Sitting

Long periods at a desk, in the car, on the sofa — the everyday activities most of us do without noticing how.

Standing

Balance, poise and how much effort you are using just to stay upright.

Walking

And other movements relevant to your daily life, at a pace that suits you.

“We work with simple everyday activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and other movements relevant to your daily life.”

What happens in a lesson

Hands on, fully clothed, at your own pace.

Lessons are practical, individual and hands on. Natalie uses gentle touch to guide you through simple movement and activity, and part of a lesson is likely to involve lying down on a teaching table.

Lessons are adapted to you and proceed at a comfortable pace. A first lesson is an opportunity to experience the Alexander Technique for yourself and see whether it feels relevant. There is no expectation to continue beyond a single lesson.

You don’t need a diagnosis or specific condition to begin lessons. Many people find that the best way to understand the approach is through direct experience rather than explanation.

Who teaches

A qualified teacher who came to the Technique for her own back.

Natalie trained at the Brighton Alexander Technique College, a three-year training course approved by the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT). She offers private lessons at her studio in Seaford and forms part of the teaching team at the Brighton Alexander Technique College in Hove.

  • MSTAT — teaching member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, with professional indemnity insurance
  • Trained at the Brighton Alexander Technique College — a 3-year STAT-approved course
  • On the teaching team at the Brighton Alexander Technique College in Hove
  • Alexander Technique advisor for SEDSConnective, the charity supporting people with symptomatic hypermobility
  • Formerly a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist working in the NHS

“I personally came to find the Technique due to back trouble. At the time I did not know this was related to hypermobility, a common but often unrecognised condition which causes instability of joints, muscular and skeletal pain and fatigue. I found sitting all day in the office pain provoking. Learning the Alexander Technique helped me to function in day to day life with less pain.”

Natalie, in her own words

From a client

“I have tried physio, Feldenkrais, Rolfing, physio, pilates, yoga but out of all of them Alexander technique is the only thing that has made a difference to my posture. I can definitely see improvements. I have had Alexander sessions before from another teacher but Natalie’s sessions were so much better as I could understand what I needed to do this time.”

About this preview

A taste of the direction, not the finished thing.

This page was built in an afternoon from what is publicly on alexandertechniqueseaford.co.uk. It is a one-page prototype to show a direction. The real build would be considerably more detailed.

A full build would carry Natalie’s own pages

  • Home · What is it? · Book a lesson · Classes · About me · Contact
  • Her Hypermobility, Neck and back pain, Parkinson’s Disease and Stress pages, with the research she cites
  • Constructive Rest Club and her blog
  • Her own photography throughout, and every service in full
  • Live booking on her actual diary, with the 24-hour cancellation policy built in
  • The complete price list, gift vouchers, mailing-list sign-up with the subscriber discount
  • SEO, analytics, and working contact and enquiry forms

What is a placeholder here

  • The appointment days and times are illustrative — they are not Natalie’s availability
  • Nothing on this page submits or sends anything; the booking flow ends in a preview state
  • Only one of the client comments on her site is shown here, and it is shown as she publishes it, without a name
  • Her logo, the STAT and SEDSConnective marks, FAQs and the research references are not reproduced on this page
  • The two photographs are hers, taken from her current site
